Anger Management
In today's class, let us learn together about this emotion called Anger.
Vethathiri Maharishi and almost all the saints give great deal of importance in handling/managing Anger. Anger is a destructive or negative emotion that destroys the self and everything in the surroundings just like a fire would destroy its origin and all the surroundings that it can reach. This is depicted in great tamil saint ThiruValluvar's poem says
Sinam yennum Serndhaarai Kolli Inam
yennum YeMa punayai chudum
Why anger is negative or destructive?
Because it is highly emotional state where the individual loses his awareness or consciousness and is taken over by the rush of destructive thoughts. So, this state ALWAYS leads to do things that one would REGRET later.
Also, anger is energy leakage. It wastes the precious biomagnetic energy that is the source of energy for all our physiological functions like physical movement, 5 senses, thinking, decision making etc.
The human body is made up of billions of cells which are in turn made of life energy particles. The rotation of life energy particles creates a magnetic field and each cell clings onto another because of this biomagnetism. Anger makes the energy particles rotate faster causing the gap between the particles to increase and there by the bio magnetism within the body weakens. This creates diseases in nervous system, heart, respiratory system and attacks the immunity. All the disease in body originates when the biomagnetic pressure inside the body decreases.
Based on the extensive analysis done by saint Vethathiri, one shows most anger against the loved ones in the family or friends circle. This will cause lot of problems for the family peace which is essential for happiness.
Solution: Following steps are the solutions offered by yogis to neutralize anger
1. Keep the mind calm by maintaining a low frequency mind either by chanting, meditation, satsang
2. Practice the interaction with closed ones or loved ones ahead of time and prepare your reaction. Rehearse it mentally and stay calm when the actual situation unfolds
3. Capture all the anger related experiences, analyze the experiences carefully when you are in a calm state, find the corrections needed in your behavior to handle similar situation in future.
4. Anger is diluted by time. so buy time. when you get angry, do not react immediately. Take a long time to react, shift your focus to something that you like and come back to the situation at a later time.
5. Once you get angry, that anger habit is registered as magnetic imprint in the body cells, brain cells and biomagentic energy. once the imprint is formed, the same habit is repeated again and again.
6. The greatest solution is being aware, being conscious especially when you are in a situation where you might get angry. awareness creates space and protects you from the ill effects of anger.
Homework Exercises:
1. Write a story about one of the saints or spiritual teachers related to ill effects of anger
2. You may write about ideas to manage anger
